Bruno, 118800, keyboard vulnerability, swine flu, Gavin Henson retiring?

I went to see Bruno last night. I have to say it was disgusting and extremely tasteless but at the same time absolutely genius and hilarious. In a similar style to Borat, Bruno goes to America to try and become famous in various different ways from creating a TV show to going on a talk show. Of course a few celebrities bear Bruno’s brunt including Paula Abdul and Harrison Ford! As well as celebrities, other victims include politicians, terrorists, religious leaders etc.

Sacha Baron Cohen carries out the role just as well as his other alter egos and makes the character so believable even though he is absolutely unbelievable. There are some dodgy moments where Cohen is seriously threatened but he doesn’t batter an eyelid and carries on playing Bruno flawlessly.

With its jaw dropping, crude and morally wrong content I do not suggest you watch this if you are easily offended or even you very difficult to offend. Basically if nothing fazes you and you have absolutely no morals then this is the film for you and you will love it.

Good news if your 15-17 and want to see Bruno. The studio is re-releasing a slightly cut version and it is being given a 15 certificate. It is only 110 seconds shorter so I’m assuming only the extremely questionable moments have been removed but I’m sure it will be just as good.

Mobile number thief’s 118800’s website is currently down. This is due to the massive amounts of requests they have received from people asking for their number to be removed. They have shut the website down while they do this. The phone number still works but mobile numbers cannot be requested from it, only landlines. Personally I hope it stays down and find it annoying that our mobile phone companies found it appropriate to sell on our phone numbers for financial gain, like they don’t rip us off enough already with their expensive and extremely long term contracts and high price phones. I mean I’m currently locked into a 24 month contract with o2 and still had to pay close to £100.00 for the phone. OK it was worth as it’s the best phone I’ve ever seen or owned but still.

Apparently it is possible to record keystrokes on a computer keyboard through the power socket the computer is connected. It is only possibly when using a keyboard with a PS/2 connection. When keys are pressed data in the form of voltage fluctuations travels down the keyboard cable into the computer and down the earth wire into the plug socket. It is possible to attach special equipment to the earth cable up to 15 metres away from the source making it a security threat in offices and hotels. I don’t think it’s that much of a problem considering the effort involved and the skill required to decipher any data recorded but if you are worried then use a USB or wireless keyboard and problem solved!

The first swine flu death in a perfectly healthy person in the UK has been confirmed. Aaaah we’re all gonna die! Also the government has announced that every single person in the UK is to be inoculated against the virus. I guess that means the GP’s office will be clogged up for the next year and by then it will have all blown over anyway. The government has ordered 132 million vaccines but only 60 million live in the UK. This seems a bit wasteful, fair enough order a few extra but over twice as many as is required seems a bit excessive.

There have been rumours (mainly in The Sun) that Gavin Henson is retiring from Rugby. The rumours are false as confirmed by Gavin himself and his team, The Ospreys.

Lily Allen Topless

Lily Allen has posed topless in one of a series of photos for i-D magazine.  I think Lily is a very attractive girl where as other people I know don't see it. I guess it's because I find her quirkiness attractive.

Anyway the pics from the shoot are below, apparently she was styled by Kate Moss. But seeming as she's practially naked in the shoots. styling couldn't have been that difficult.

10/07/2009 - Queen on twitter, Miley Cyrus, F1........

The queen is now on twitter, well not her personally but there is now an official Royal Family twitter account, @BritishMonarchy. It will be maintained by staff at Buckingham Palace and Clarence House.

If you ask me this is just annoying, the Royal Family trying to ‘get down’ with the kids just the Prime Minister’s twitter account @10DowningStreet. You can’t even use it as a reliable news source given the fact that it will be completely biased without a bad thing being said about the respective account holders. What do think, will you follow the Royal Family or Gordon Brown, leave a comment!

If you have swine flu you can now stay off work for 14 days before getting a sick note from your GP instead of the usual 7. It is to try and reduce the burden on GPs and to keep people at home to reduce spread. How many people are going to use this to stay off work longer, I could do with two weeks off myself. *Cough*, *Sneeze*, *Sniffle*.

Lewis Hamilton posted the fastest time today in both practices of the German GP at Nurburgring. This actually quite surprising considering his record this season, is this turnaround for him? I highly doubt it; think it’s just a bit of luck. Well I suppose we’ll find out tomorrow during qualifying.

Miley Cyrus has done it again. The 16 year old has had new pictures taken for Elle magazine that have been considered controversial and racy. So we are going to get a bunch of nutcase ‘stay at home’ mums and other people that have nothing better to do complaining about them and forcing the poor girl to apologise again. I mean she is 16 and it’s not like to pictures are full frontal nudity. Check the pic out yourself below, what do you think, leave a comment!

A new craze has hit the internet and FaceBook. People are posing for pictures lying face down on strange places and then posting said pictures on social networking sites such as FaceBook. This is pretty funny, check out the pics below. Any of you taken part in this craze let me know in the comments and email your pics to ianmackay88@gmail.com

Alternatives to Swearing at work

I got this email in work today and thought it was so funny. I have to share it with everyone!

Dear Employees and related workforce:

It has been brought to management's attention that some individuals throughout the company have been using foul language during the course of normal conversation with their colleagues.

Due to complaints received from some employees who may be easily offended, this type of language will no longer be tolerated.

We do, however, realise the critical importance of being able to accurately express your feelings when communicating with colleagues.

Therefore, a list of 13 New and Innovative "TRY SAYING" phrases have been provided so that proper exchange of ideas and information can continue in an effective manner.

1.

Try Saying:

I think you could do with more training

Instead Of:

You don't have a f***ing clue, do you?

2.

Try Saying:

She's an aggressive go-getter.

Instead Of:

She's a f***ing power-crazy b*tch

3.

Try Saying:

Perhaps I can work late

Instead Of:

And when the f*** do you expect me to do this?

4.

Try Saying:

I'm certain that isn't feasible

Instead Of:

F*** off a*se-wipe

5.

Try Saying:

Really?

Instead Of:

Well f*** me backwards with a telegraph pole

6.

Try Saying:

Perhaps you should check with...

Instead Of:

Tell someone who gives a f***.

7.

Try Saying:

I wasn't involved in the project.

Instead Of:

Not my f***ing problem, mate.

8.

Try Saying:

That's interesting.

Instead Of:

What the f***?

9.

Try Saying:

I'm not sure this can be implemented within the given timescale.

Instead Of:

No f***ing chance mate.

10.

Try Saying:

It will be tight, but I'll try to schedule it in

Instead Of:

Why the f*** didn't you tell me that yesterday?

11.

Try Saying:

He's not familiar with the issues

Instead Of:

He's got his head up his f***ing a*se.

12.

Try Saying:

Excuse me, sir?

Instead Of:

Oi, f*** face.

13.

Try Saying:

Of course, I was only going to be at home anyway

Instead Of:

Yeah, who needs f***ing holidays anyway.

Thank You.

Thursday 9th July (Swine Flu, Greedy bank, Doctor who ......)

The number of deaths from Swine Flu in the UK has now reached 14. But with all the cases the patients had an underlying health problem, which means that swine flu still isn’t that lethal and these people probably would have died from seasonal flu also.

The UK now has the third highest amount of cases behind the US and Mexico but most cases require little or no medical treatment and can be treated at home. Basically it’s just the media scaremongering people as usual just like avian flu a couple of years ago and nothing really came of that. It really gets on my nerves when they do because at least half of people actually believe and start acting like idiots, doing things like not buying pork products even though there is still no conclusive evidence that the flu came from pigs.

Interestingly Wales has a very low amount of cases compared to other UK regions. Not sure on the exact figures but Wales has about 10 cases compared to the adjacent West Midlands regions with well over 1000 cases. Strange hey, God must love the welsh!

Nationwide are now offering 125% mortgages. This is what got us into this mess in the first place. They say they will only be offered to existing customers who are in negative equity and want to move home but how long before this is extended to other customers. If people are in negative equity they can’t move home, simple as that. Anyway isn’t that what home is for, living in, not selling.

Once again the banks are being greedy and clearly haven’t learnt anything from their mistakes over the past couple of years.  The government needs to step and regulate banks much more heavily and ban this kind of thing. I know people will disagree because at the end of the day a bank is a private business and shouldn’t be interfered with by an already interfering government, but when such a business is literal control over the economy then it needs to be watched over. Some reports have even said the banks purposely caused the recession in order to maximise future profits. Personally I don’t believe this but to be honest it wouldn’t surprise me if it were true

Has anyone seen Lady GaGa’s newest outfit. Now I love this girl’s music but she is bloody weird. Some of her outfits are so strange and this one breaks a new record I think. Look at the picture below. Click on it to read story at digitalspy.co.uk

And click the link below to watch a clip from the upcoming Doctor Who episode ‘The Waters of Mars’. It looks pretty bloody freaky, really looking forward to that, what about you? Please comment below.

Who watched torchwood tonight, best episode yet I would say. Torchwood finally getting the upper hand over the government only to lose it and one of their members to the 456. I don’t know if Ianto is really dead though, knowing torchwood I think he’ll be back tomorrow. We’ll have to wait until then to find out I suppose.

Free Eric

Eric is a promising young US soccer star who has been convicted of rape of a girl even though there was barely any evidence to suggest it was him. In fact there was much more leaning torwards a white kid. I am joining the campaign currently happening on the internet to get this man free. Watch video below from SXEPhil who explains it in more detail plus the digg story, be sure to digg it to get it maximum publicity!!

Wednesday 8th July (MJ still alive rumours, fake sperm, Google OS)

There have been a lot of rumours and news flying about on the internet that Michael Jackson is in fact alive. This blog seems to have the full story http://derekclontz.wordpress.com/2009/06/29/michael-jackson-faked-his-death-say-sources-with-comeback-tour-to-be-biggest-ever/.

This author does seem to like his conspiracy theories with several other posts about this topic and a few about Elvis Presley.

Personally I think it is a load of rubbish, Michael Jackson is dead just like Elvis Presley. The idea that he managed to get to Hungary keeping everyone who he came into contact with quiet including airport staff, pilots, customs, immigration in absurd. The poor man tragically died, people need to accept this and let him family grieve. Stories like this will not be helping his family and it is extremely disrespectful to them and to MJ himself.

The fact that there are people out there who spend their lives searching for dead people and manufacturing evidence to prove their elaborate theories is just sad and weird. Have you noticed the type of people I mean if you ever watch those conspiracy documentaries on TV, they just look weird, the type that still live with their mother’s at 40. (I know that’s stereotyping but hey, whatever!) These people need to get out more and make some real friends and get a bloody job maybe.

For people who actually respect the dead, yesterday was Michael Jackson’s funeral and memorial service. It was a very moving service for the fans and the stars who performed including our very own Shaheen Jafargholi, who was amazing I thought.  MJ’s daughter’s speech was very moving but I don’t think it was a good idea to let her speak to the entire world in such a time of grief.

The service received just 6.3milion viewers over 7 channels which if you put into comparison to another show on later that night, Torchwood which received 5.9 million viewers on one channel or the tennis on the weekend which received over 11 million viewers, then it is quite disappointing.

The producers of awesome show, Lost have asked fans to write a ‘theme song’ for it. It’s called the ‘Rock with your Lost on’ contest and is being held in conjunction with Comic-Con in San Diego later this month. The song should reflect what the show means to the viewers and the winner will have their song played at the convention. It would be highly unlikely that the song will actually be used as the theme song but it’ll be good to see what fans come up with. Any of you going to submit a song? Let me know in the comments section or email to me and I’ll post to be played here.

Both the USA and South Korea have had some of their government agency computer networks attacked.  I think based on the targets, it is pretty obvious who the attacker is, North Korea. North Korea has regular run ins with both countries with both of them regularly condemning N. Korea’s actions. Hopefully this won’t turn into a massive conflict and can be resolved quickly by the countries. At most the US should respond with a similar attack and not with any physical wars or invasions.

Google are currently manufacturing a new Operating System to rival Microsoft. Personally I don’t think they have a chance at the monopoly that is Microsoft. They’ve already failed in the browser market; the best they can hope for is to become a rival of Linux which has a similar type of OS. It’s a shame really because Microsoft really does have a rubbish OS and I’m pretty sure Google can create a better one but breaking that monopoly just seems impossible for any company. The closest anyone has got it Mozilla in the ‘Browser wars’ but Microsoft still has by far the largest market share.

It seems men are no longer needed in the world. Sperm cells have been created by a scientist in Newcastle, UK using stem cells. The cells could be used to help infertile people have babies. As we all know this kind of research (using stem cells) is very controversial, especially among the religious community. This is because human embryos are used in the process and later discarded where as these could have potentially been a human life. Personally I have no problem as it is this kind of research that could save lives from so many diseases and medical problems.  What is your opinion, let me know in the comments below.

The video of MJ's "ghost"

This video apparently shows Michael Jackson's ghost at neverland filmed during a live show. It is barely a flicker on the camera and so is clearly just a trick of the light or a faulty lense, even a bit of dust. Anyway have a look and make your own minds up, be sure to comment.

Tuesday 7th July (7/7 anniversary, Michael Jackson's Ghost ...)

Today is the fourth anniversary of the 7/7 London bomb attacks so we should all spend a couple of minutes today to think about the families of the 52 people that were lost.

In memorial to the victims a monument has been erected in Hyde park, it will be unveiled today by Prince Charles and consists of 52 stainless steel columns each standing 3.5 metres tall and a plaque naming each one of the victims. Prince Charles missus Camilla, Boris Johnson and Tessa Jowell will also attend and will meet the families of the victims before the service begins. The monument cost £1 million which I think is a justifiable cost in remembering innocent people caught in the crossfire of what some may call a war.

In more sad news it is Michael Jackson’s memorial service today, it will start at 10am PDT so 6pm BST. Dedicated fans having been gathering for hours even though it is still the early hours of the morning in Los Angeles, some are hoping to get a ticket although this is very unlikely as there are many measures to stop ticket selling. EBay yesterday was taking down all auctions selling the tickets and LAPD are not going to let any fans without tickets anywhere near the venue to avoid overcrowding. The show is at the moment being broadcast on seven UK channels tonight

  • BBC TWO

  • BBC News Channel

  • BBC HD

  • Sky News

  • Sky Arts 1

  • Five

  • NTV

Many stars are expected to pay tribute, at the moment these include

  • Stevie Wonder

  • Mariah Carey

  • Usher

  • Lionel Richie

  • Kobe Bryant

  • Jennifer Hudson

  • John Mayer

  • Martin Luther King III

  • Rev Al Sharpton

  • Smokey Robinson

  • Brooke Shields

  • Shaheen Jafargholi (from BGT 09)

  • Berry Gordy

At the same time Michael’s family will be attending a private memorial service, expected to be his funeral.

In more Michael Jackson news, it has been reported that his ghost has been spotted at his Neverland home (complete rubbish, I know!). Apparently a shadow figure appeared during a live show for CNN, ‘Inside Neverland’. It walked across the corridor very quickly and fans are positive that it was MJ himself. Obviously as ghosts can’t possibly exist this isn’t true, probably just a crewman or something.

Looks like summer is over for us in the UK. Met office has said temperatures will be below 20ÂșC for at least the rest of the week and they can’t say if the heatwave will ever return. Oh well at least we had some nice weather, better than last year!

The US and Russia have agreed to cutback their nuclear weapons stockpile and Obama has called for an end to old cold war rivalry. They will cut back to between 1500-1675 weapons each within 7 years. I personally don’t think this is good enough and the rivalry is clearly still there, you can guarantee that both countries will keep the maximum allowed so both will have 1675 in 7 years time. This is enough weapons to easily defend the country 10 times over. One of the countries should set an example and cut back their weapons to what is absolutely necessary. I personally think weapons such as these are unnecessary and should not be used or threatened at all but with unstable Countries such as North Korea then it is understandable should be kept for defence but should be kept to the absolute minimum.

Monday 6th July (Sarah Palin Resigned, MJ Memorial, G8)

Feeling a bit rough today after going to the pub last night and deciding it would be a good idea to drink despite having work this morning. It was good night though drinking and singing to Michael Jackson songs on the jukebox very loudly and not in tune at all. I’m in work now (on lunch break) not going to go into the complexities of my job (HA!) but it has been bloody boring this morning.

Sarah Palin has announced that she will be resigning her post as Governor of Alaska on 26th July. Hooray for the Alaskans I say, not having to put up with that dumb bimbo, but why has she resigned?

Some are saying that she is going to be making a run for the presidency in 2012 and Sarah Palin herself has been dropping hints on her Facebook page that seem to go along with this theory. "I am now looking ahead and how we can advance this country together," she wrote yesterday. Another post asked Americans to join her in looking how "we can advance this country together with our values of less government intervention, greater energy independence, stronger national security, and much-needed fiscal restraint".

Sarah Palin remains very popular among Alaskans and the entire US Republican Party base, for the life of me I cannot see why, but then again they did vote George Bush in twice so you never know, Sarah Palin 2012.

I don’t know if any of you heard the UK charts on Radio 1 last night but shockingly Michael Jackson was not #1, he had a total of 13 in the top 40 with the highest being Man in the Mirror at #2. Unfortunately he was beaten to the top spot by Cascada! So some crappy dance music rip off group beat the legend that is Michael Jackson. Despite everything that Michael Jackson was, he produced some good music and deserved a UK #1 as a fitting tribute. I can only assume that because there were so many different MJ singles in contention that there wasn’t enough sales on one particular one to beat Cascada, who only has one record in the charts, to the top spot.

It is Michael Jackson’s memorial service tomorrow at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles. After the internet draw for tickets where more than 1.6 million people applied, 8,750 fans have been chosen at random to receive tickets.

To avoid people selling the tickets on, a wristband will be placed on the hand of the ticket holders at the time of picking the ticket up. A ticket and wristband will be required to enter the service. Any wristbands torn, removed or tampered with will not be accepted.

Police and authorities are getting worried at it is expected 700,000 people will form a crowd around the centre and is urging people to stay at home and watch the service on the TV.

Some British fans are annoyed due to the short notice of the event, they would have found out they were successful in the early hours of this morning, giving them a day to get to America most likely meaning paying full price for a flight to L.A. which may very well be fully booked.

The G8 leaders are to agree to reduce greenhouse gases by 80% by 2050. To some environmentalists this may seem like good news but to the majority of UK taxpayers this just means the government will have yet another excuse to put additional green taxes on cars, fuel, roads, food and whatever else they can think of. Personally I think a more pressing issue in the world at the moment is the state of the economy and that this should be concentrated on first before thinking about “Global Warming”.

I mean regardless to what the government does, global warming is going to happen anyway. If you look back at the planet’s history it warms up and cools down all the time which is why the Earth has ice ages etc.

There have been rumours flying around on the net that Megan Fox (Hot!!) is dating Zac Efron after being seen on “romantic” dinners with him. I find this highly unlikely as Zac Efron is still dating fellow high school musical start, Vanessa Hudgens Also the fact the Megan Fox has said in interviews that she wouldn’t date people like him specifically mentioning his name and that she prefers older men.

What do you think of the above stories, do you agree with my views, please comment below!

Sunday 5th July. (Youtubers review)

Didn’t go to sleep until mega late last night so woke up about 11. I caught up on the YouTube videos I’ve subscribed to. My internet has been so slow lately that I haven’t even been able to watch YouTube videos without waiting a considerable length of time for the videos to load so my subscriptions have been building up, internet seemed to be working OK today so took my chance.

I follow quite a few people on YouTube

SXEPhil (The first YouTuber I ever subscribed to) Quite a funny bloke with some good views and opinions even though sometimes these can be very conflicting and hypocritical but that’s part of the charm

iJustine – An attractive girl who is an apple fanatic and makes some very funny skits but also has some mind numbingly boring videos. Comes across as a bit of a nutcase and can be very funny so subscribing to her is worth it.

Communitychannel – (Natalie Tran) An attractive Australian Asian girl who produces some very funny videos and sketches usually with herself playing all characters. Very clever and comes across as very friendly and geeky.

Maninthebox – A sketch about Gregg working in an office and having to put up with the colleagues and people around him, very funny and obviously heavily influenced by The Office. Good quality sketches considering the low budget and surprisingly low viewer figures they have.

I follow a lot more people but would say that these are the best at the moment. What do you think, who do you follow on YouTube? Please comment!

This is my first blog so I'll tell you little about myself. I'm 21 and live in South Wales in the UK. I am training to be a Quantity Surveyor with a multi-national construction company. This involves me going to college one day a week and work four days and every weekend off. College has finished for the summer so at the moment going to work five days. Good thing is weekends and evenings are free for now as no coursework to do.

I go the pub and resturants with friends often, I also enjoy going to the cinema regularly. I used to play a bit of golf but stopped, but might start that again now the summer's coming around. If I'm in then I like to chill and watch TV or go on the internet. Occasionaly I'll play on my Playstation.

Currently I am trying to lose weight as I currently weigh 21st 7lbs at 6ft 5in so I am walking quite a bit and visiting the gym. Hopefully this will help and I will report my progress in this blog.

My interests include Rugby, F1, Music, TV, Movies, Socialising.

I like pretty much all music from pop to rock, old and new. Some of the artists I listen to are Vampire Weekend, Coldplay, Lily Allen, Mark Ronson, Snow Patrol, The Fray, Plain White T's, MGMT, Kings of Leon, The Killers, The Ting Tings, The Feeling, Maroon 5, Scouting for Girls, OneRepublic. And some that I'm a bit ashamed of - Diana Vickers, Leona Lewis, Kelly Clarkson, Take That, Sara Bareilles.

With TV I mostly enjoy US shows as I find the writing and acting quality much better. Shows I enjoy include Lost, Heroes, 24, 90210, Smallville, ER, Pushing Daisies, Dirty Sexy Money, Chuck, Greek, Gossip Girl, The Big Bang Theory, Fringe, Reaper, Scrubs, Friends, Law and Order: UK, Horne and Corden, Gavin and Stacey, The Apprentice, Grand Designs.

I like many films. A few of my favourites are Juno, Casino Royale, Shaun of the Dead, Stepbrothers, Lost in Translation.

Now to tell you what this blog will be about. Basically I will be comment on news, current events, movies, tv shows, music, technology and a lot more via this blog so if you interested in any of this then I would recommend following this blog as you will get impartial and unbiased opinions and views of an individual.
